THE SHORT VERSION

  • Famitsu's issue for the week of October 31, 2026 carries four reviewed games, and GoNintendo and NintendoEverything publish the same four scores for each.
  • Star Wars: Galactic Racer leads at 34/40 from 8, 9, 9 and 8, followed by Deck of Haunts at 32, MeowPower Yachiyo at 28 and Glow Box at 27.
  • Neither outlet lists a game the other omits; they differ in presentation, with GoNintendo printing totals out of 40 and NintendoEverything printing the four scores only.

Four games, four scores each

Famitsu's review round for the week of October 31, 2026 covers four games, and both GoNintendo and NintendoEverything published the same set on the same day. Star Wars: Galactic Racer received 8, 9, 9 and 8 from the magazine's four critics. Deck of Haunts received 9, 6, 9 and 8. MeowPower Yachiyo received 6, 8, 7 and 7. Glow Box received 5, 8, 8 and 6. GoNintendo prints a total beside each line: 34 out of 40, 32, 28 and 27. Both posts present the batch as the week's round rather than a single review, and both date it to October 31.

The running order differs between the two posts. GoNintendo lists the games alphabetically, running from Deck of Haunts through Glow Box and MeowPower! Yachiyo to STAR WARS: Galactic Racer. NintendoEverything orders them by total, starting with Star Wars: Galactic Racer at 34 and finishing with Glow Box at 27. The four numbers behind every total are the same in both lists. Read top to bottom, NintendoEverything's order is the ranking and GoNintendo's is not.

How the four-critic total is built

Both outlets explain the method. GoNintendo writes that each Famitsu review is handled by four critics, that each critic gives a game a score from 1 to 10, and that the scores are added together, so a perfect game would receive 40 out of 40. NintendoEverything gives the same account in a single sentence, noting that four editors gave out scores and that the final total is out of a total of 40 points. That matters when a total is quoted without the four numbers, because a 32 can hide four 8s as easily as it can hide a 9 and a 6.

GoNintendo also says where the numbers come from. Its post states that the latest issue of Famitsu has made its way to subscribers in Japan before the list of four games follows. NintendoEverything files its version under News, Switch and Switch 2, and points readers to its archive of earlier Famitsu score rounds. Neither post names the issue number, and neither gives the issue date beyond the week label.

Galactic Racer leads with two 9s

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is the highest scorer of the week, with two critics giving it 9 and two giving it 8 for 34 out of 40. That is two points clear of Deck of Haunts and seven clear of Glow Box. It is also the most consistent set of scores in the round, because no critic placed it more than a point away from any other. No critic placed the game below 8, which is the highest floor of any title in the round.

GoNintendo's post carries the subtitle "Scarily good scores", and that line is the only editorial comment either outlet attaches to the numbers. NintendoEverything's post has no equivalent line and no adjectives. The two outlets agree that the game took the top place in the round, and neither reports what the critics said about it beyond the four scores. NintendoEverything's post opens with the week label and goes straight to the four lines.

A 6 pulls Deck of Haunts below the top

Deck of Haunts lands second on 32 from 9, 6, 9 and 8. Three of those scores sit near the top of the scale, and the single 6 is what keeps the total two points under Galactic Racer. That 6 sits beside a pair of 9s, which gives Deck of Haunts the widest split in the round, three points from the highest critic to the lowest. Glow Box shares that three-point spread, and the other two games stay within two.

MeowPower! Yachiyo reaches 28 from 6, 8, 7 and 7, the tightest spread of the four at two points. Glow Box is last on 27 from 5, 8, 8 and 6. It is the only game in the round to receive a 5, and a second critic gave it a 6, which means half the panel put it at 6 or below while the other half put it at 8. Added up, 27 is the lowest total of the week and seven points behind the leader.

Where the two lists agree and where they differ

The two lists agree on every number. Each of the four games appears in both posts with the same four scores, and neither outlet lists a title that the other leaves out. GoNintendo's line for Deck of Haunts reads 9 / 6 / 9 / 8 with a total of 32, and NintendoEverything's line for the same game reads 9/6/9/8. The same holds for the other three games. The only formatting difference inside the numbers is spacing: GoNintendo separates each score with slashes and spaces, while NintendoEverything uses slashes without spaces.

What differs is presentation and naming. GoNintendo adds the total out of 40 to every line and credits Universo Nintendo at the foot of the list. NintendoEverything prints the four scores without totals, though its note explains that the total out of 40 exists. GoNintendo writes MeowPower! Yachiyo with an exclamation mark and STAR WARS: Galactic Racer in capitals, while NintendoEverything uses MeowPower Yachiyo and Star Wars: Galactic Racer. Both spellings point to the same four scores, so a reader searching either name lands on the same round.

What a score round does not tell you

Neither post attaches a platform, a release date, a price or a genre to any of the four games. Neither reproduces any review text, so the numbers arrive without the reasoning behind them. NintendoEverything's Switch and Switch 2 tags are categories on its own site, not a statement that all four games are on those systems. A score of 27 out of 40 says nothing about length, price or audience, and neither post fills that in.

The round also carries no comparison with earlier weeks, beyond NintendoEverything's link to its archive. For readers following what else is landing on Nintendo hardware, this site's file on the Croc 2 Switch remaster covers a re-release with 40 levels, Yacht Club's Mina the Hollower physical release update tracks a boxed edition still in progress, and Wild Blue Skies' Switch launch covers a rail shooter that arrived at $14.99. All three concern Nintendo hardware releases rather than review scores.
