GTA 6 score by Justice gets 30 tracks and a December 11 vinyl

Rockstar will release Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score by Justice on December 11 on vinyl, CD and streaming with 30 tracks, and "Pusher" with Gesaffelstein is out now.

THE SHORT VERSION

  • Rockstar announced that Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score, composed by French electronic duo Justice, will be released on December 11 on vinyl, CD and major streaming services.
  • The release has 30 tracks drawn from the duo's full suite of material written for the game, plus digital bonus tracks, in a two-disc CD edition and a three-LP vinyl edition with a clear-record limited version.
  • The separate soundtrack album, GTA VI: The Album, arrives on November 19 with the game and 34 tracks from other artists. "Pusher", a Justice track featuring Gesaffelstein, is available now.

A score release, separate from the album

Rockstar has announced that the official score for Grand Theft Auto VI will get its own release. The album is called Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score, it was composed by the French electronic duo Justice, and it arrives on December 11 on vinyl, CD and all major streaming services. The announcement follows the earlier confirmation of a separate soundtrack album, GTA VI: The Album, which is built from 34 tracks by a range of artists.

The two releases are different products with different composers. The score is Justice's instrumental work written for the game. The album is a compilation of songs from artists including Travis Scott, Keith Richards, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, PinkPantheress and Yung Lean. Splitting them means a player who wants the music that plays under missions is buying a different record from a player who wants the radio songs.

Justice on why the score had to be broad

Justice is Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé. In a statement shared with Complex, de Rosnay described the scale of the brief. "The scope of the game is so large geographically and thematically that it was clear from the beginning the music would also have to be very broad in terms of emotions, genres, and textures," he said. He added that the duo was given room to follow that breadth: "We were given the freedom to explore as many things as we needed to, musically speaking."

The release is mainly instrumental, which separates it from the song-based album. That distinction matters for what the record is: a score has to work underneath a scene rather than carry it, so the tracks are written to sit under driving, dialogue and quiet moments. Neither report publishes a tracklist, so the range de Rosnay describes is a claim about the sessions rather than something a listener can check before release.

What is on it, and the one number that differs

Rockstar's description, as reported by both outlets, is 30 tracks taken from Justice's full suite of material composed for the game, plus a number of digital bonus tracks included across all formats. One track is already out: "Pusher", a Justice song featuring Gesaffelstein, released alongside the announcement. An earlier Justice track, "Flower in a Hurricane", featured Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Rockstar has not said whether the bonus tracks are new compositions, alternate mixes or short cues.

One number does not line up. Complex notes that the Apple Music pre-release profile for the album lists it as a 50-track experience, while Rockstar's own description refers to 30 main songs plus bonus tracks. The difference could be bonus material, separate mixes, or a listing that counts short cues. Neither report resolves it, and Rockstar has not published a full tracklist, so the only safe count is the one in the announcement.

Two dates: November 19 and December 11

GTA VI: The Album comes out on November 19, the same day as the game, with 34 tracks from the roster Rockstar announced last month. The score follows on December 11, three weeks later. Both are separate purchases, and the physical editions announced so far belong to the score, not to the compilation.

The sequencing gives the score a second news cycle after launch, when players have heard the music in context. It also means the album is the release tied to the game's first day, which is the one that will appear on streaming charts alongside launch coverage. That timing also means the physical editions of the score ship after the first wave of launch coverage, so buyers are ordering from the announcement and the single rather than from reviews. Rockstar has not said whether the score will be included with any edition of the game, and neither report mentions a bundle.

The physical versions and how to order

The score comes in three physical forms: a two-disc CD edition, a three-LP vinyl edition, and a limited edition of the three-LP vinyl pressed on "crystal clear" records. Pre-orders for the physical editions are open now, according to VGC, and the same page carries links to pre-save the streaming release.

Neither report gives prices, regional availability or a pressing quantity for the clear vinyl. That last detail is the one collectors usually want and the one a limited edition rarely confirms in advance. The practical advice is to check the listing for the region rather than assume the clear version ships everywhere, because neither source says it does.

What is still missing before December

The open items are a full tracklist, a price for each format, and confirmation of how the bonus tracks are distributed across vinyl, CD and streaming. Rockstar has described the bonuses as included across all formats, which suggests the same core programme everywhere, but the exact count per format is not published. The 30 versus 50 discrepancy will be settled by the tracklist, not by another announcement.

The streaming release will make the full tracklist public on December 11 at the latest. For now the confirmed facts are the title, the composer, the December 11 date, the three physical formats and the release of "Pusher".
